2020 Cambridge University Cricket Dinner

Saturday 22nd February
7 p.m. - 10 p.m.

The Cambridge University Cricket Club would like to invite players, friends, family, and all supporters for an evening of merriment to celebrate cricket and the 200th anniversary of the club.

Over the years, Cricket at the university has been successful in bringing together students, staff, and supporters, from a wide variety of colleges, communities, and eras. It is the oldest Blues sport, and we are keen to ensure that this is not forgotten!

We hope that this evening will help us do more of the same, while also highlighting key initiatives and events that the club is undertaking this season!

One such initiative is the cricket club's largest-ever club tour. A combined Blues (1st XI) and Crusaders (2nd XI) group of 26, accompanied by coach Chris Scott, will make the trip in March to Desert Springs, a first-class cricket facility in Spain. This will be the club's 3rd tour in four years and the current Junior Committee is actively planning to establish a sustainable framework that will allow the club to give even more members of the men's and women's teams an opportunity to embark on similar tours in the future.

Another is the first time CUWCC will play at the prestigious Wormsley Cricket Ground, as it is the venue of the 2020 Women's One-Day Varsity match. Funds raised will also help pay for the ground fees, transport, and officials. This is just one more reason to join us at the dinner to support this historic fixture at its new location.

Along with your dinner ticket, please consider providing some additional support for this year's initiatives through the options provided!

Please do not hesitate to contact either Nick Taylor (Blues Captain, nt409@cam.ac.uk) or Karthik Suresh (Tour Secretary, ks800@cam.ac.uk) if you have any queries about the tour, season, dinner, or any other matters.

We hope to see you on the evening of Saturday the 22nd of February, from 7:00pm for drinks & jazz in the Christ's College Chapel, followed by a three-course dinner with wine at 7:30 pm in the dining hall!
